I chose photography as a career what next!

Hi! You probably don’t know me, so let me introduce myself first, my name is Nitika Shrivastava m pursuing BA in still photography from the Asian Academy of Film and Television Raipur, India. so, as a young teenager, I literally changed my thoughts about my career a lot of times, till class 10th I wanted to be a doctor, then in class 11th, I decided to do engineering as biology actually ain’t my thing, m gonna tell the truth…..
I failed in class 11th.

My subject was PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) and honestly, I loved math, but I hated physics and chemistry, these subjects.
It was like a nightmare for me and I didn’t really know what was wrong, what I was doing wrong. Then, as life continues, I rehearsed class 11 and passed this time. After that, I was about to finish my grade 12 class n it came the game-changer in everyone’s life corona arrived…

We have no choice but to stay at home, frankly, this confinement has changed everyone’s perspective on life. People were dying every second a lot of bad news all over the world, will never forget this stage. I passed my 12th with good marks. Then, during containment, I had this craze for traveling the world and capturing it…

But, the thing was you need money to travel and loads, to be honest, and I came up with the idea of photography and I researched about it coz I was doing it for many years, clicking pictures from my iPad mini 4, but never really thought about it as a career and I got confused between BTech and photography…

Of course, I wasn’t confirmed that I can do it or not, and if am not convinced how can I tell my dad about it, then with a sign by god I met a guy who was Also, my dance teacher, yes, I attended dance lessons during confinement, but in my society and with every precaution. I told him about my confusion and the whole thing. He said you should do whatever you like. After giving a deep thought about it, I finally chose photography as my career, but the real task was to tell my dad about it and I told him everything y I want this as my career and everything and guess what he agreed with it of, course after convincing him 2-3 times he agreed… And That’s what matters and I took admission to the Asian Academy of Film and Television, Raipur. I finally chose my career as a photographer…

And what comes next? Will I be able to achieve my targets with this? I suppose no one knows, not even me, but I know being a female photographer m gonna face many challenges as it is a male-dominated career, but let’s hope for the best.
